Poetry from the world's greatest Sufi poet. Hardcover.

Mawlānā Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Balkhī (مولانا جلال الدین محمد بلخى), also known as Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Rūmī (جلال‌الدین محمد رومی), but known to the English-speaking world simply as Rumi,[1] (30 September 1207 17 December 1273). Jalaluddin Rumi Balkh (is known as the greatest Sufi poet in the Persian language. He was born in Balkh (Northern Afghanistan) in 1207. His family moved west to avoid the Mongolian invasions, which brought mass destruction and chaos. During his life time, he wrote a great deal of lyrical poetry, including the famous Mathnawi, which focused on the various aspects of Sufism and their relationships with everyday life. J. R. Balkhi's works are widely read and have been translated into many languages, including English, Spanish, French, Spanish, Italian, and even Russian. Balkhi was also the founder of the Whirling Dervishes (Mawlawiyah Order). He died in 1273 at Konya. Courtesy of
